Plumbing Service Technician

Thompson Plumbing, Heating, & Cooling is looking for an experienced Plumber to efficiently undertake a variety of plumbing tasks ranging from fixing leakages to installing pipes and making spot repairs. The ideal candidate are patient individuals with a practical mind and a heart to serve our customer’s with efficiency and great attention to detail. Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain water supply systems
  • Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g. leaks)
  • Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc.
  • Install water heater’s
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance
  • Maintain a clean work van
  • Maintain a clean jobsite
  • Invoice and write estimates using our software
  • Keep plumbing stocked on the work van

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a plumber
  • Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential, commercial and industrial buildings
  • Working knowledge of heating and ventilation systems as well as appliances
  • Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly with a great deal of patience
  • Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in awkward spaces
  • Diploma from a trade school or successful completion of apprenticeship
  • Valid license to practice profession

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative/Dispatcher. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in our operations, acting as the first point of contact for our clients and ensuring that their needs are addressed promptly and professionally. This position requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for our customers, providing a warm, professional greeting, and efficiently addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Schedule and dispatch service technicians to customer locations, ensuring optimal routing and timing for service calls.
  • Coordinate closely with technicians in the field to keep them informed of job details, changes in scheduling, and any customer-specific requirements.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer interactions, service requests, and dispatch activities in our database.
  • Provide timely updates to customers regarding the status of their service request, including estimated arrival times and any changes to the schedule.
  • Work collaboratively with the service team to resolve any issues that arise during service calls, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in managing the on-call schedule for emergency services, ensuring that customers have access to our services when needed most.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in customer service.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or training in customer service or related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or dispatcher role, preferably in a plumbing, heating, or cooling service environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software or dispatch systems is preferred.

Thompson’s is looking for an experienced Hvac tech to efficiently undertake a variety of tasks. The ideal candidate are patient individuals with a practical mind and a heart to serve our customer’s with efficiency and great attention to detail.

We are seeking a team player who works well under pressure and will assist the rest of the staff in completing tasks and projects successfully. The ideal candidate for this position is an energetic, detail-oriented professional who has a background in installing and maintaining HVAC systems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects, so it is important for them to have a background working with electrical equipment like air conditioners, furnaces and heat exchangers.   • Be able to work with contractors and clients to determine problem areas and solutions.
  • Know how to identify and use the proper parts, materials, and tools.

  • Perform thorough maintenance on electrical systems to ensure they remain functional and safe.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
  • Ensure all work meets the company standards and local electrical codes.

Skills

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Technician or similar role.
  • Deep electrical system, power generation, blueprints, and maintenance and repair knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of electrical health and safety regulations.
  • Experience with various electrical test equipment.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma/GED required; Electrical Technician certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred.
  • Valid electrician license/subsequent certification as required per state regulation.
